Winter English Camp A , January 2020

It was a jam-packed week for the 35 Chinese students who joined us for the first of the Traidhos English winter camps. The days began with a morning of English lessons, followed by a mixture of team building games and activities, visits to local attractions, swimming and cooking. At Traidhos Cooking Academy, students learnt to make a variety of local dishes, including the infamous Thai Green Curry! At the Traidhos sustainable farm, students met the animals and hand-picked ingredients they later used as toppings in the pizza-making masterclass. They had more animal encounters at the local Insect Zoo, where we walked through a room of butterflies and the brave of the group held lizards and tarantulas. The highlight of the week was our visit to Doi Inthanon Mountain. Hiking through the forest we saw a waterfall, spotted a snake, listened to the sounds of nature, explored a traditional coffee village and admired the breath-taking views of the paddy fields and mountains. We finished with a BBQ at the campfire where the students showed off their skills in a talent show, toasted marshmallows and danced around the campfire celebrating what a wonderful week we had.
