2010 Camp Reports
HIEC Camp 19 July - 8 August 2010
The Prem camp hosted 19 students from different countries including China, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea and Japan for the Holiday Intensive English Camp between 19 July-8 August 2010. Aiming to allow students to live and learn together in an English speaking environment, students created good relationships as mentioned by a Japanese students in his homework writing
(AKA Kamyu)...On July 19th we came to the camp. First time when we meet together we were so quiet. But when we eat dinner we became friends. We went to the zoo, waterfall, hot spring, and more. It was very fun...
The afternoon and out-of-class activities such as team buiding, boat racing, team sports and field trips supported the English classes well. Students enjoyed group challenges and field trips while they automatically practiced English language in a real-life situation. The three week camp went by so quickly but it successfully allowed students to improve their language skill.
Even though it is the last camp run under the name of the Prem Camp, it will remain a good memory of friendships among students from different nations. It sustains the Global Citizen concept of our institute. We look forward to next years camp under the Traidhos Three Generation Camps branding.

Three Generation Campus was filled with the sound of laughter for the first three weeks of the summer holiday as thirty-four students from Bangkok, USA, Taiwan and Japan came together for Three Generation Summer Camp 2010.
With electives in tennis or golf, workshops considering different issues of living sustainably and conserving the world's resources, IT sessions and an exciting mix of team challenges, off-campus visits, outdoor cooking opportunities and night games, the students shared many activities and experiences cementing friendships that will last much longer than the evening campfire.
We are proud at the way the students managed themselves and challenged themselves to live away form home for this extended time and remember the hard work given by all camp staff to make this a memorable camp. Parents and students are already asking about a camp for the October break!

Camp Date: 17 - 30 April 2010
During the weeks of April 17 - 30, the Traidhos Three Generation Community for Learning was happy to host a group of nine students, ages 9 - 11, from Bangkok. Students came to study English in a fun and exciting environment while exploring the many adventures Chiang Mai has to offer.
During their stay, they spent classroom learning time with Ajarn Rosalyn, where they learned in a lively and effective interactive method. They played games, did projects and had a great hands-on learning experience.
Outside of the classroom, students had the opportunity to explore beautiful Northern Thailand, with activities planned in and around the city of Chiang Mai and as far away as Doi Intanon, the tallest peak in all of Thailand.
Adventures included zip-lining through the jungles, where they got to experience a part of the rain forests previously reserved for only a select group of scientists and researchers, hiking deep into the forest to arrive at a Karen Hill Tribe, taking soil and water samples and testing for water cleanliness in the waterfalls of Doi Intanon, shopping at the Chiang Mai Walking Street Market, plowing the rice fields behind a buffalo at the Buffalo Camp and visiting the Chiang Mai Zoo.
Activities on the Three Generation campus included archery, farm education along with a jungle cooking course, swimming, umbrella painting, 'crazylympics' sports games and the camp was brought to a close with a traditional Northern Thai Kantoke dinner, complete with local drumming, dance performances and the grand finale being students letting off their own Khom Loy, the traditional Thai sky lanterns.
English Camp was a great time for each of these nine students, awarding them the opportunity to expand their English skills both in the classroom and by speaking with native English speakers throughout each of their educational adventures. Each and every student showed significant improvement in not only their English knowledge, but also in their confidence to use that knowledge, and in the end, each of these students built friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
