Frequently Asked Questions about the Camps Program

What is Prem Center?

Camps are based at the Prem Center for International Education Chiang Mai, a secure site 25km north of Chiang Mai. Campers enjoy all the facilities on this 90-acre campus: Olympic-sized swimming pool, gym, campfire circle, playing fields, lakes, amphitheatre, activity rooms and canteen.

The campus is shared with the Prem Tinsulanonda International School, a Visiting Schools Program, Boarding students and residential teachers and families.

How do I know my child will be safe?

The campus is protected by 24 hour security with both patrolling and front gate guards. There is a nurse with a well equipped medical room available around the clock.

Our staff are trained to be aware of potential risks to campers and to be proactive with safety briefings to ensure that everyone has a safe and memorable camp.
Where will campers live?

Campers will live in a purpose built air-conditioned bunkhouse with attached bathroom facilities. Counselors sleep in adjoining rooms ensuring full care and attention in the event of an emergency.

Occasionally activity campers may share small apartments on campus. A camp staff will always be close by. Students are encouraged to be independent and responsible for keeping the room tidy.

How about food?

Meals are taken in the Prem Center Cafeteria in buffet style. The campus is shared with the PTIS International school, so our cook is accustomed to catering to students and always provides a nutritious buffet selection including vegetarian, salad bar, fruit and desert.

The menu is changed everyday so that campers have fun to try the variety international and local food served at Prem Center.
